Melbourne's favourite cabaret mistress, Meow Meow, returns to Malthouse Theatre with a story to defrost even the coldest of hearts.
 

As we usher in the festive season, Meow will collaborate with our artistic director Marion Potts to propel Hans Christian Andersen's bittersweet fable, Little Match Girl, into the wild realms of theatrical possibility, dripping with cabaret charm, subversive wit and heart-stopping songs. As our Match Girl staves off the cruel cold of winter with her dwindling supply of flames, she turns to dreams and the light of the stars to find a way home. Together with Mitchell Butel (Woyzeck, Avenue Q), Meow Meow and Marion will create fantastical flights of fancy, cut-throat comedy with a dark edge and a whiplash score to ignite an utterly original theatrical experience
