Aladdin announces Brisbane and Perth seasons
The genie-us that is hit musical Aladdin will fly into Brisbane’s QPAC and Perth’s Crown Theatre in 2018. The beloved story that has enjoyed rave reviews and packed houses in Sydney and Melbourne will begin Brisbane previews on February 28th before moving to Perth from July.

Hayes Theatre announces show lineup for 2nd half of 2017
Monday, May 8th saw the announcement of the show lineup for the 2nd half of the year at Sydney’s Hayes Theatre. Shows include Under the Covers starring Matthew Mitcham (Twists & Turns), Matthew Ogle and Rhys Morgan from July 19th to 23rd, new musical MELBA starring Emma Matthews (Opera Australia’s La Traviata), Annie Aitken (Sound of Music), Michael Beckley (Home and Away), Caitlin Berry (Doctor Zhivago), Blake Erickson (Les Miserables), Adam Rennie (Big Fish) and Samuel Skuthorp from August 11th, Assassins starring David

The Bodyguard– Sydney season extended
Due to popular demand the Sydney season of The Bodyguard has been extended to July 2nd. Currently playing at the Lyric Theatre, the show has people on their feet dancing. Final seats go on sale Monday, May 15th.

Toby Francis and Emily Williams perform anthems at NRL ANZAC Test
Toby Francis (Kinky Boots) and Emily Williams (The Bodyguard) performed the Australian and New Zealand anthems respectively at the 2017 NRL ANZAC test in Canberra on Saturday, May 6th 2017. Congratulations Toby and Emily.
Theatre People Sings Industry Night

Theatre Footy Day- Monday, May 29th
Monday, May 29th will see the men and women of the musical theatre community swap their tap shoes for football boots as they raise much needed funds for Beyond Blue with a friendly game of football at Peanut Farm in St Kilda. The game will kick off at 11:30am followed by a BBQ afterwards. Supporter entry is a gold coin donation. Thank you to the performers who have given their very valuable Monday off up for a great cause!
Matthew Lee Robinson’s New Voices
Direct from New York, Matthew Lee Robinson returns to Melbourne on Monday, May 29th to present New Voices. The songs of Katie Weston and Lucy O’Brien
On Sunday, May 21st The MC Showroom, Prahran will host The Songs of Lucy O’Brien and Katie Weston. The evening will feature O’Briens newest, never before heard musical work A Sharp Intake of Breath. It will also dive deeper into Weston’s newest song cycle, Falling Forward. They will be joined by an outstanding cast of performers ready to showcase this exciting new material.
Lucy O’Brien is a music director, arranger, pianist and singer. Her musical direction credits include Godspell (2016) and Company (2015) and arranged the music for The Gathering (2016) Katie Weston is a singer, actor, composer and director whose acting has won her two Music Theatre Guild of Victoria Best Actress Awards including her portrayal of Mary in CLOC’s 2016 production of Jesus Christ Superstar.

Claire’s Pop Up Petite Cabaret
Back by popular demand, Claire’s Pop Up Petite Cabaret presents a stellar line up of top shelf performers this June. To kick off the month, June 7th will see Deb Krizak (Cabaret, Anything Goes) will perform her intimate cabaret Stripped Back accompanied by Hayden Tee on the piano. CATS Korea begin rehearsals
The cast and crew of CATS Korea pounced into rehearsals as they began on Monday, May 8th . Congratulations to our Aussie representatives.
Errol and Fidel on its way to the New York Musical Festival
Congratulations to Boyd Anderson and Guy Anderson (writers), Peter Kaldor (music) and John Kaldor (lyrics) four Sydney siders whose new musical Errol and Fidel will open the 2017 New York Musical Festival. Their musical was the only overseas production at the festival.
The show will play at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater for five performances including the prestigious opening night.
