CALL FOR ACTORS, DIRECTORS and INDEPENDENT THEATRE COMPANIES

Short+Sweet Sydney, the world’s largest festival of 10 minute plays, is ramping up for its twelfth year.

‘The world’s biggest little theatre festival’ will produce 160 plays from Jan-Mar 2013, with hundreds of opportunities for actors, directors, Independent Theatre Companies (ITCs) and playwrights.

Short+Sweet Sydney is the largest short play festival in the world and we are looking for actors and directors from a range of backgrounds.

We will produce 160 plays in our season from Jan-Mar 2013, which means we have spaces for 160 directors! Directors of all experience levels are welcome to sign up. There is a prize of $5,000 cash for Best Director, so register for your chance to win! The plays are performed either for one week or over one weekend and auditions take place in November 2012.

Anyone who registers early will receive invitations to free workshops, skill-sharing opportunities and more.

There are also around 600 roles for actors. All ages, genders and looks are needed. The range of plays available is immense - with all kinds of styles and genres imaginable written by everyone from talented amateurs to professional playwrights.
