new website too difficult to navigate

am I the only one who finds this new version of theatrepeople far far too busy to navigate and use? I miss the old, easier and amateur theatre friendly format.
I also cannot send emails to the site anymore (nor do I get a response as to why), so will have to go elsewhere to promote auditions for my company and our shows. I guess this is so long theatrepeople and good luck to you!

Re: new website too difficult to navigate

Hi Drew,

Thanks for getting in touch, we really appreciate you taking the time to write to us (as you have several times). We are keen to make your experience as simple and enjoyable as possible but you've never left us a return email address so we haven't been able to contact you.  If you can please let me know exactly what issues you have as far as navigation goes, I'd be happy to work through them with you. You can contact me any time at editor.ian@theatrepeople.com.au. My email is all over the site and the Contact Us tab at the top right works for me - I can't explain why it doesn't for you.

We don't expect everyone to prefer the new design over the old, but the feedback from the vast majority of our readers has been really positive and once you get the hang of the site it actually has a lot more functionality than the old site and we believe this will enhance your experience in the future.

Thanks again and I look forward to hearing from you. :)

Cheers,

Ian Nisbet

I do struggle trying to work

I do struggle trying to work out the reviews section myself. It's unclear which shows have been reviewed by Theatrepeople and which are just there in waiting until they are reviewed. The links at the top of the page labelled 'Most recent' don't often display the most recently reviewed and are shuffled all over the place so that one show that was reviewed four weeks ago and is now closed will somehow remain the first link, yet a new one e.g. 39 Steps is three or four back.

Finding reviews...

Hey Mikey,

Thanks for your question... If you don't want to click on the show posters at the very top of the page, all you need to do is scroll down the reviews page and you'll find all the latest reviews.  They appear there as soon as the show opens (so that readers can cast their vote). If a TP reviewer has reviewed them, you will see the opening lines of the review right next to the show poster.  If we haven't reviewed the event, you will see "We have not reviewed this event yet. Stay Tuned" until the review goes up.

I hope that's helped.  Please let me know if you have any other issues :-)

Cheers

I also find it a bit tricky,

I also find it a bit tricky, as it is not quite as obvious any more how to get to most recent by category anymore, i.e the most recent newsflash etc...

Re: I also find it a bit tricky,

Hi there,

The most recent items always appear at the top of each page. You can access the most recent News Flashes by floating over the Stories tab and selecting News Flash or by clicking on Stories to see all of the latest News Flashes and Features together. :)

Cheers,

Ian Nisbet

It's also worth noting that

It's also worth noting that on the front page, all the content under "Latest Content" is posted in order of newest to oldest, and if you click the "next" arrow at the bottom, it will load the next items of content right there on the spot, without even having to click through to another page.

Not alone

Not alone at al. Not a fan of this new site at all.
