Midsumma Festival Premier Event Submisisons are now OPEN!

Midsumma will celebrate our 25th anniversary in 2013 and want you to come to the party!Midsumma Festival is made up of between 120-160 events annually. The vast majority of these are Registered Events, which are community-produced and include classic favorites as well as emerging, and first-time productions and artists. Registered events do not need to be submitted for selection, they are a part of the open access Festival registration process. To register your event, simply fill in the form online, pay the corresponding registration fee and return your agreement and you will be a part of Midsumma Festival! These registered events are punctuated by Premier Events, which are selected by Midsumma management, board and working groups. These events must show a high level of professionalism, experience and relevance to the queer community. Premier Events enjoy a larger promotional space in the Guide as well as online. These events are intended to be a recommended s uggestion for audiences who are not sure what to see, or who are experiencing Midsumma for the first time. These Premier Events are supported by Yarra Trams and gain visibility through the tram networks during Festival. The selection to become a Premier Event will be more competitive and with stricter selection criteria in 2013, as there will only be space for 10 Premier Events in Festival; this is including Midsumma-produced events Carnival and T Dance.
