Makeup Artist

Hi, I am a uni student currently doing a diploma of makeup artistry and stage makeup as well as my bachelor of psychology, and I would love to work as a makeup artist for film, theatres, music videos etc. Could you please refer this email to the correct person who would be able to assist me in knowledge of what qualifications are required in this industry? I have heard that a hairdressing qualification is highly sought after. Is this true, and do you need to have completed an apprenticeship in hair dressing, or do you just need a theatre makeup qualification? And which art/makeup institutions do you hire from?
