Is it just me or is anyone else in the 'TheatrePeople' world getting sick and tired of all the comments being made without a name attached?? Really if you haven't got the guts to stand by what you are saying or if you feel that people are going to judge or be angry/upset or anything of the sort by what you have to say... Isn't that a good indication that you shouldn't say it? End Rant Ben Heels

TP Code of Conduct?
Ordinarily I would disagree with you Ben, based on the simplest ideologies of free speech. I am a strong advocate for people having a forum to voice their opinions openly and freely, though this is with the stipulation that it is without fear, inappropriate response or purposeful and vicious retribution. I do not feel TP can provide this safety, and as such I am forced to agree with you.
In the sad case of the TP website (which I once loved very much, and submitted to often), I think it has come to a point where it would be of greater benefit to 'lock it down' and only allow registered users with a genuine screen name to make comments and submissions.
There are too many people who use this site 'anonymously' to slander, belittle others and just to make themselves feel that little bit more powerful at the expense of others. It's unacceptable, and as I said previously, a core reason for my lack of interaction with the site lately.
I am sure that I will receive tonnes of dislike for making this comment, and that is fine. I have no problem with people disagreeing with me; people are welcome to disagree with me. I have stated that my opinion is my own and subjectivity is free to all. What I have become sick of are the stupid snide and ill-cosidered comments that accompany such instances.
So to anyone out there who disagrees with me, feel free to do so either silently or vocally. Just make sure if you do so vocally, that you do it with intelligence and consideration. If you don't, then you look the fool, not me.
My two cents.
Cheers,

Thanks, Dan. This is something I advocated for quite some time. Maybe with enough interest the people could actually influence change on the site?

Further, it'd speed conversations up (and make it easier for TP staff!) as the moderation process could be removed due to people putting their names to their comments.
Nah, its just you.
Nah, its just you.
stop taking the site
stop taking the site seriously,
people giving snippy, bitchy and hateful comments was one of the founding and fun elements of the original TP.
