Municipality Makes Magic with Musicals

The City of Casey is growing. In fact, it is bursting at the seams with talented young people, keen to show us what they’ve got!

For the second year running, eight schools from the City of Casey will be coming together to showcase their year’s productions. Each will perform two numbers from their current school musical, with the hopes of claiming the title of ‘2012 Schools on Stage Champion’.

The day promises to be a flurry of vibrant colours, spectacular costuming and energetic dance moves from over 200 performers. This hoard of young actors, singers and dancers will be accompanied by a live orchestra.

This year’s program features performances from:

• Alkira Secondary College ‘Back To The 80’s’

• Beaconhills College ‘The Wiz’

• Cranbourne East Secondary College ‘Beauty And The Beast JR.’

• Cranbourne Secondary College ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie JR.’

• Fountain Gate Secondary College ‘How The West Was Warped’

• Hillcrest Christian College ‘Wizard Of Oz’

• Kooweerup Secondary College ‘Kisses’

• St John’s Regional College ‘Seussical’

As if you needed any other inspiration to book your ticket to ‘Schools on Stage 2012’, the show will be hosted by the gorgeous Tim Campbell. With over fifteen years of experience in the Australian entertainment industry, Campbell is set to be dazzled by the young performers of the City of Casey.

The performers will be vying for one of several awards on the night, including the major prize of $2000. A complete list of awards and details of the judging panel will be available closer to the date.

All schools participating in ‘Schools on Stage’ will receive a discount voucher from Hal Leonard Australia, which entitles them to either 20% off a Broadway Junior ShowKit or 20% off their material hire bill for any Hal Leonard show performance in 2013. What a great opportunity!
