Tonsils + Tweezers
By Will O’Mahony

To start off 2018 bigger and better than ever, JackRabbit Theatre is proud to be bringing the work of award-winning playwright Will O’Mahony to the Sydney stage for the first time. A star-studded young cast will be performing Tonsils + Tweezers at the Kings Cross Theatre for a strictly limited season from 12 January, 2018.

Tonsils + Tweezers are friends – best friends – inseparable since high school. But a freak accident 10 years ago keeps threatening to tear them apart. On the afternoon of their 10-year high school reunion, Tweezers comes up with a plan. He puts down his tools, takes out a gun, and asks, “Tonsils, ever wanted to kill someone?”

Tonsils + Tweezers is a show about friendship, loss and letting go of the past. Moving at lightning pace, this show is as heartfelt as it is hilarious. With a cast comprised of some of Sydney’s best and up and coming talent, including Megan Wilding (Belvoir’s The Rover), Travis Jeffrey (Love Child, Sport for Jove’s One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest), James Sweeny (The Secret Daughter), Hoa Xuande (Foxtel’s upcoming Fighting Season, Ronny Chieng: International Student), you won’t want to miss the Sydney premiere of this fast and witty new work.

Will O’Mahony is a multi award-winning actor and writer who began directing in 2012. He was awarded Best Script at the PAWA Awards and three Blue Room Theatre Awards for his play Great WhiteTonsils + Tweezers won the 2014 Black Swan State Theatre Company’s Emerging Writers Best New Play Award and received production in January of 2016.

JackRabbit Theatre is known for creating new, loud, fast and entertaining theatre. We keep it fast, and we keep it loose. 2017 saw JackRabbit produce five shows in four different venues, including a tour to Perth and a curated new-work season.
