Laramie, Wyoming – Like No Place On Earth. In October 1998 Matthew Shepard was murdered. He was the victim of a hate crime in which he was brutally beaten and left for dead because of his sexuality. Four weeks later, nine members of the Tectonic Theatre Project travelled to Laramie and began a project that what would ultimately consume two years of their lives. With over two hundred interviews, a court case that had the attention of the world and scores of different characters, The Laramie Project was born.
