On Thursday night I saw “Scarborough” by Fiona Evans. This play uses subject matter which, not so long ago, would have been unacceptable to stage. It is still a very sensitive topic. It explores affairs between school teachers and their students. The fact such a play can be staged shows how social mores are changing.
Are you prone to feeling dizzy or faint? Do bright lights irritate you? Sad? Depressed? Can’t seem to find any motivation? Are you slacking in your domestic duties? Disappointing your husband?
Set in rural Australia, True Love Travels on a Gravel Road is about ordinary people who go to extraordinary lengths in pursuit of a dream without regard to the consequences.

Upon entering the performance space of Dance of Death at the Malthouse’s Beckett Theatre, I immediately felt as if I was some sort of voyeur and the stage and players were a large-scale science experiment.
