Disco Inferno is a light, fun and energetic show full of fantastic 70's music. I’m not a fan of going to shows opening night, always worried things will go wrong and I won’t see the best it could be. But I was pleasantly surprised with Disco! The standard was great. The only teething problem was some of the sound with mics, which I’m sure they will iron out straightaway.

In traditional Fab Nobs style, the relaxed cabaret seating fits this show perfectly. What a fantastic production team, a dream team! The brilliant and very experienced Neil Goodwin as director and two young, very talented guys - Drew Downing, MD, and Robbie Carmellotti as choreographer.

There’s not a lot of storyline, it’s all about the music we know and love. As an audience member, you can’t help but get involved. The show is long, but you don’t feel it as the band is amazing and the cast have great energy and keep up with Robbie’s tight, cute choreography. The lighting was great, the set was nice and simple (watch out for the disco floor that lights up) and the costumes were true to the era.

The cast are a true credit to the production team, full of triple threats. For me, the males were strong. Danny Medica (Jack) was a mature performance, solid with his accent and a fantastic voice. The standout song of the show  for me was Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word. Just beautiful. Christopher Doran (Tom). A very funny character, he has a lot of one liners, which he does with such a cute style. You full in love with him more and more by the end of the show.

Samuel Kitchen (Heathcliffe). This amazingly talented man has done it again, but in a style of character we haven’t seen him do before. His voice was rich and had strong stage presence. Emma Caldwell (Jane) was a great light and shade to her leading man. She had the difficult task of singing the well-known anthem I Will Survive but did it with ease.

Brooke Wendt (Lady Marmalade) was sassy and strong. The cast all round were great, but some other performers worth noting for their consistent focus are Merryn Degnan, Mark Woods and Jodie Scouller.

I myself know I will be going back. It’s a lot of fun, a great night of entertainment.
