Mary Poppins Not Hurt [UPDATE]
We heard some rumours this morning that Helpmann Award-winning Mary Poppins Verity Hunt-Ballard has been injured and is taking six weeks off to recover. After doing our own investigations we do not believe this is the case.
If Verity had been injured during a performance emergency services would most certainly have been called and the media would have been all over it like a rash. Of course she may have injured herself outside of a performance but we still believe she's fine.
UPDATE: Scarlett Strallen (whose parents were both in the original London production of Cats and is also Bonnie Langford's niece) will be flown in from the UK (where she has been playing Mary) until Hunt-Ballard returns for the Brisbane season.

In other news we have heard that Pippa Grandison is taking over the role of Mrs. Banks from Marina Prior when Mary leaves Sydney. Not sure what Marina is up to next but you'll know when we do!

Mary Poppins Verity Hunt Ballard
Wrong wrong and wrong. I know all this because i play a main in the musical Mary Poppins at the Capitol theatre. GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT!
Re: Mary Poppins Verity Hunt Ballard
Thanks Jasmin and congratulations on being cast in the role of Jane Banks for Mary's Sydney run at the Capitol theatre.
Of course you may have more inside knowledge than we do considering you're a member of the company but we contacted Disney Theatricals when the first rumours began circulating and they informed us that Verity was not, in fact, hurt. In our mind nothing is 'fact' until it's confirmed by the producers. :)
Cheers,
