Katie Holmes heads back to Broadway
Katie Holmes is continuing to show her independence and has taken a role on Broadway. She is set to star in a new play Dead Accounts, by Theresa Rebeck. It will be her first acting role since her high publicised split with Tom Cruise.
Rebeck, a co-creator of hit series, Smash, told The Wrap that she is "positively tingling with delight" over the comedy production, which sees Holmes in the role of 30-something-year-old Laura, still living at home with her parents in Cincinnati.
Dead Accounts is directed by three time Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien and the play will open on Broadway in the autumn at the Music Box Theatre.
Her last appearance on Broadway, which also marked her debut, was in the 2008 production of All My Sons. The news that she will return to a Times Square stage is also a signal that she may intend to stay in New York City
