The Arts Centre is proud to announce its upcoming performances.
Version 1.0’s This Kind of Ruckus, a confronting alcohol-fuelled techno-beat driven performance about sexual violence in contemporary culture, will make its Melbourne debut at the Arts Centre, Fairfax Studio from 18 – 28 August 2010.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream - A fun retelling of one of Shakespeare’s classic comedies. Korean mythology and mischief combine to create a world of infectious fun, music and mime in Yohangza’s A Midsummer’s Night Dream, at the Arts Centre, Playhouse from 8 – 11 September 2010.
AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE – The Continuum: Beyond the Killing Fields. Documentary performance at the heart of Cambodia’s recent history. Based on Pol Pot’s massacre of the royal court dancers of Cambodia, The Continuum: Beyond the Killing Fields is a gripping re-telling of the story of 78-year-old Em Theay, who survived the massacre by the Khmer Rouge led by Pol Pot from 1975 1979. The documentary-style theatre production from TheatreWorks Singapore will be performed at the Arts Centre, Playhouse from 15 – 18 September.
Philip Escoffey – Six More Impossible Things Before Dinner (UK) With Edinburgh, Melbourne Comedy and Fringe Festivals and an extended season at the Sydney Opera House up his sleeve, Philip Escoffey is returning to Melbourne to challenge the cynics and believers alike, from 21 September to 3 October 2010.
