Hoorah!  What an honour to have a production directed/choreographed by Baayork Lee.  Thank you for including Adelaide.  :-)

Mel began dancing at the age of 3 and grew up listening to musicals, going to the theatre and watching her critically acclaimed dad, the late and great Murray George direct and perform. She has been involved in community theatre since 1986 primarily

Chorus Line dream squashed

I'm all for Adelaide getting more musical theater into the state, and am a great follower of all that it brings.
WHY Chorus Line NOW about 4-6 months ago an amateur theater company in Adelaide got the rights to do this very show for March - April 2012, and it was this show that was going to be my DIRECTING debute. I know we would never do it as good as a professional company but I also know would give it our best but we wouldn't get the audiences after the professional version came through which brings me to think do we can it or go ahead with it ??

Kristian - stop your

Kristian - stop your whinging... maybe comments like yours is a reason WHY producers DON'T bring shows to Adelaide. A Chorus LIne is being performed on the professional stage as it's perfect timing for Adelaide and Melbourne, as there is a lack of theatre availability in other states. I think it will be a great success to see this classic, popular and well respected musical. I think you will need to choose a different show for your directing debut.... think Pirates of Penzance is available

Yet there is also the

Yet there is also the possibility that you would get alot of patrons, who will respond to brand of "A Chorus Line" done by the advertising budget of a touring professional production.

Think about it, alot of people cry that they can not afford professional theatre. We hear it all the time. Yet if professionally it is getting great coverage, press, tv, internet etc etc, and the words and brand of "A Chorus Line" are out there and being put in front of people... do you not have a recognisable brand to push on with, at a reasonable priced ticket, for those who can not afford the expensive tickets??????

Worth thinking about?

I mean basically i see that they are doing a huge amount of expensive branding for you.

Could actually be a good thing? thoughts?

I saw A Chorus Line 35 years

I saw A Chorus Line 35 years ago and was blown away. The film never came anywhere near the stage production. If you do one thing in your life go and see it
