so do amatuer rights now

so do amatuer rights now contain the ability to promote your shows using the professional soundtrack? is that right? if so, that is really amazing.

Oh Sputnik your so funny how

Oh Sputnik your so funny how you try and debase this promotion, everyones been doing it. Have a look around at some of the youtube clips promoting shows recently. I bet you even have illegal copies of shows you've been in. Seriously buddy take a chill pill. Or do you have something against this company or show... me thinks so as you obviously aren't too worried about putting your real name to your post..

Hey Explorer 1, i feel you

Hey Explorer 1, i feel you took my message the wrong way.... completely.

I'm not saying I have a problem with it at all, nor am I trying to debase this promotion. In fact I think the last line of my post indicates that I'm actually all for it. Good Luck to Players. This promotion looks fantastic.

I was simply asking a pretty valuable question worth asking and worth the debate in the theatre community.

For a while the license groups were heavy handed about certain things you can or can not do, (we have all heard of some companies being slapped with pretty heavy fines etc etc) and I wondered if this has either relaxed, altered or if some forms of agreements are now available that mean you can actually use some of the amazing resources we have?????

I never once suggested this was illegal, or that Players did anything wrong. Who knows, they may have paid good money to be able to do that. What ever the agreement is, good for them in getting this great promotion up and running and sounding great.

I agree, it is something we are seeing more and more of, as we see companies use social media capabilities to promote the shows. I ask the question not as a stab at this company, but rather as someone who feels that IF these things were relaxed a little bit, would it not be better for all theatre companies out there to help in the promotion of the show? Any little help is worth gold is it not?

In return I guess that helps the license holders as healthy companies means a healthy number of productions does it not?

Please do not take it the wrong way Explorer 1.

I think you are allowed to

I think you are allowed to use the professional recording, I'm pretty sure here you run into trouble is when you record your own vocals of a song and publicise with that.
