Variable time (part time) 20 hours per week
Band 1.1 $18.27 per hour

Current position opportunity
The Arts Centre Melbourne has three great new career opportunities available for people with a passion for technical production in the performing arts.
The Technical Production Trainees will work with the Arts Centre for 15 months, 20 hours per week, across staging, lighting and audio technical departments.
These are entry level positions and the trainees will receive extensive on and off the job training and complete the Certificate III in Live Production, Theatre and Events.
You don’t need to have been employed professionally to apply, but you do need to have the bug for a technical career in the performing arts – in lighting, audio or staging (Sorry, no trainee stage managers or wardrobe yet).

About the Author

Chris is a founding partner of Theatre People. Over the the past thirteen years, he has made his mark on the theatre community as an actor, singer and dancer, appearing in over thirty large scale productions. Chris made his professional theatre debut in as a principal performer in Follies In Concert at the Crown Showroom. The many faces of Hughesy have been spotlit in lead and principal roles in Anything Goes, Sweet Charity, Oklahoma, Bye Bye Birdie, The Wiz, Chess, Hot Mikado, Grease , Pirates of Penzance and Jesus Christ Superstar, The Hot Mikado, Whitehorse's West Side Story and most recently is Johnny O'Keefe in CLOC's Shout! Chris has earned multiple nominations by the Music Theatre Guild for his performances in various roles over the years including a best director nomination for the critically acclaimed production of  Assassins.
