This March, Stella Entertainment and DTM Talent present, for the first time in Australasia, It's Only Life by John Bucchino.

The cool part is they have offered us an AMAZING prize pack for one lucky reader who can do the following:

Write a one verse limerick using the words 'Bucchino' and 'life.'

Here's a couple of example to get your creative juices flowing:

There once was a man called Bucchino

Who revered the good 'Doctor,' Valentino

He rode for his life

But got into some strife

Now his thrills revolve 'round cappuccino.

I once wrote a show with Bucchino

Who I mistook for Latino

He stole my wife

And ruined my life

Now I spend all my time at casinos

Now, are you ready for the AMAZING prize pack?

The best entry (as voted by Stella and DTM) will win:

1 x Double pass to see It's Only Life
1 x Programme, signed by John Bucchino
1 x CD (probably It's Only Life, I would imagine), also signed by John Bucchino, and...
1 x Photo WITH JOHN BUCCHINO!

To enter, post your limerick in the comments below before midnight Friday (March 4).

Make sure you leave your full name if you're not a registered user so we can contact you if you win!

Bucchino!

I once heard a song by Bucchino,
The style was dolce andantino,
It was played on a Fife,
And stayed with me for life,
I am haunted by that concertino.

Bucchino!!

In a world filled with trouble and strife,
Where hatred and anger is rife,
Take a hint from Bucchino,
Who sits at his pi'no
And offers this: It's Only Life.

Limerick

Bucchino is one to entice,
"It's only life" his advice,
Direct from Big Apple,
To Chapel Off Chapel,
For forty bucks, cheap at this price!

"It's only life" echoes

"It's only life" echoes moreso,
Bucchino's idea is a clause, though
Ned Kelly harangued,
Just before he was hanged,
Nearly Ben Cousins' ink on his torso

Limerick

Playing piano, Bucchino
Conveyed an emotion that we know
"It's only life" counts
With effective amounts
Of the very best grappa or vino

Limerick

"It's only life"? A decree.
Bucchino could say "C'est la vie".
But might de-sequester,
Some distant ancestor,
E' solo vita, ma sì!

Limerick

Bucchino's life leaves us with song
In theatrical terms it's not long
This man can impress,
Composing finesse,
Heck. This acrostic is wrong.

Limerick

Bucchinos' life work stands inflated
"Temporary"? I'm elated
"What you need.." (some say life)
"Love will find you" (in strife)
I'm "After the party" crenated

John Bucchino Comp

I gave John Bucchino a wink,
And invited him home for a drink.
He said "Not on your life,
You'll get me in strife."
But he should have been grateful, I think.

Limerick

What a talented man is Bucchino
Who wrote "It's only Life" on pianino.
With 'Grateful", "That Smile"
And "Taking the Wheel"
Go to Chapel on Chapel to see-o.

When Bill asked of Mr

When Bill asked of Mr Bucchino
A loan to play at the casino
He said,"don't be silly,
Live your life Billy.
Barbarella is playing at Kino!"

"Such Is Life" Limerick Competition.

A Steinway and a spoilt bambino,
Conjoined just like an El Nino.
Some music just right,
And called "Such Is Life',
Makes me stay up all night with Bucchino.

It's Only Life Competition Winner

Hi all,

I have heard back from Stella and DTM and, although they said it was a very hard decision, they have chosen James Cutler's limerick as the winning entry.

Thanks to all who entered and we hope to see you participating in other competitions in the future. In fact, there's another one running right now: http://theatrepeople.com.au/features/tomorrow-morning-haiku-competition.

James, please contact me (details below) for information on how to organise your prize. :)

Cheers,

Ian Nisbet
