Anyone for crimped hair or bright purple nail polish? Did you just dry-retch? I don't blame you.
Yes, styles and trends have certainly changed since the 1980's, but what a hot decade!
Without this important era, we wouldn't have Bros, the under-cut, Fame, Kevin Bacon, CD Players and
the phrase: "I carried a watermelon". (You know exactly what I mean!)

The gang at Williamstown Musical Theatre Company are gearing up for a surely successful
season of the Broadway adaptation of

Firstly, let me say “See, Billy Idol gets it!” - Now, let’s meet the cast!

Turanga Merito as Robbie Hart

What 80's song best reflects who you are and why?
"Definitely 'Thriller' by Michael Jackson.  I'm a Gemini; I’m so very much like Michael Jackson or his alter-ego in the film clip that ends up putting together a random dance group at midnight and busts out with Choreography in the street.  Plus who didn't love that random red PVC Jacket."

What is your favourite 80's song?
"'How Will I Know' - Whitney Houston.  In her prime she was fierce."

What do you love about the 80's?
"Shoulder Pads, The Cosby Show, and the fact that I was born (1984)!"

What is your most unfortunate memory at a wedding?
"Once I was singing a friend down the aisle, and low and behold, the Music Man accidentally played 'I Hate You So Much Right Now' by Kelis, for about 15 seconds, and they couldn't find the stop button on the CD player fast enough for it to seem like a mistake. Of all places we had to be in - we were in a church - the place went silent.  It was hilarious, I was laughing, obviously the bride wasn't.  I never sang at another wedding after that."

Nathan Gili as Sammy

What is your favourite 80's song?
"'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner', the thirteen minute epic from Iron Maiden.  Or '99 Luftballons' by Nena."

What do you love about the 80's?
"The music, television shows, cartoons and movies.  What other decade can claim to have produced the best of Iron Maiden, Masters of the Universe, Quantum Leap and Arnold Schwarzenegger?"

What do you dislike about the 80's?
"The hair - who ever thought that a mullet with a double-perm fringe was a good idea?"

Describe your ideal wedding day
"Probably any wedding that doesn't involve me actually getting married. If I did get married however, it would most probably involve pastel suits on the gents and some sort of velvet monstrosity on the ladies. And the dog would be the ring bearer."

Alexandra Clover as Julia

What 80's song best reflects who you are and why?
"'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' for obvious reasons!"

What is your favourite 80's song?
"Hmm... I’d day 'Thriller' for the awesome film clip."

What do you love about the 80's?
"The big hair and amount of jewellery one person could wear!"

What do you dislike about the 80's?
"Nothing..."

Describe your ideal wedding day
"Relaxed and informal with great food and great company."

What is your most unfortunate memory at a wedding?
"None so far, maybe some cringe worthy speeches by best men!"

Ingrid Gray as Holly

What is your favourite 80's song?
"'Broken Wings' by Mr. Mister. You can't not sing along!"

What do you love about the 80's?
"I'm not too sure what i love about the 80's as I was only 7 years old when it finished, however I was
always jealous of the older girls at my school, who got to wear two different coloured scrunch socks. Oh, Spokey-Dokies  (Bike adornments) rocked my world!"

What do you dislike about the 80's?
"What I hated about the 80's has to be starting school! Up until recently I wasn't too keen on the music either."

Describe your ideal wedding day:
"My ideal wedding day could go two ways. (I have put a lot of thought into this over the years)
My big ornate wedding is at St. Patrick’s church in East Melbourne with hundreds of guests and the press. Or I would also be happy with a wedding right on the sands of a tropical beach, with the groom in white linen shirt and pants, me in my simple, sleek gown and both of us bare footed, with just our nearest and dearest."

What is your most unfortunate memory at a wedding?
"The first wedding I ever went to, My Aunt's. I was 3 and my cousin who is exactly 1 year older than me was made flower girl, I was not happy about that arrangement at all. The only photo from that day with
me in it is of my family with me in the front. And despite the packet of Smarties in my hand I had a very sour face! They know never to make that mistake again!"
