British playwright Jez Butterworth takes audiences on a brutally funny journey through the seedy, amphetamine-fuelled, Rock’n’Roll underbelly of 1950s London. MOJO follows a hapless gang of would-be gangsters, seduced by the promise of fame and fortune, fighting for control of the next big Rock’n’Roll sensation, teenage singer, Silver Johnny.
Fast paced, terrifying, yet brilliantly ludicrous, this Tarantino-esque play catapulted Butterworth to his first Olivier Award for Best New Comedy and sparked a new genre of British crime drama, including what are now immensely popular films Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch.
Created for young artists, by young artists, Patalog Collective is an emerging theatre and production company dedicated to giving younger creatives a platform to explore their passion for the arts at a professional level.
For our debut production we have a young, exciting and extremely talented cast and creative team who can’t wait to get their teeth stuck into Butterworth’s brilliant work.

At face value, MOJO is simply a fast paced dark comedy; pure entertainment so to speak. However, underneath the dense dialogue and claustrophobic setting, the audience finds themselves presented with a unique exploration into masculinity and the vulnerabilities of brotherhood.
