After three years of intense Musical Theatre training, both Finn and Mackenzie have finally graduated from WAAPA with dig dreams and open hearts. With employment rates a mere 6%, these fresh performers are off to a incredible start.
Just days after arriving in Melbourne, Finn began rehearsals for ‘Spice Up Your Life: The Ultimate 90s Experience’, a much adored Midsumma Festival production. And soon to star in StageArt’s production of ‘Bare: The Musical’ at Chapel off Chapel. Finn: The project is so moving and special to be a part of. It’s a tricky piece, but with the amazing cast and creative team have put in so much heart and soul, I have no doubt the audience will love it’
Both Finn and Mackenzie will return to Perth to feature in Black Swan State Theatre Company’s production of Assassins. Shortly after, Mackenzie will make her way to Sydney to begin work on the upcoming Australian Tour of Jersey boys, playing the role of Francine. Mackenzie: I was shocked when I received the call that they wanted me to play the role… I’m still pinching myself!”
The duo will perform in the upcoming Theatre People Industry Night on March 26. Mackenzie – I’m so thrilled to be singing with my go-to-duet-buddy in public as apposed to constantly irritating our neighbours with our evening jam sessions!’ Performing a song from City of Angels, they will be joined by more than 20 other singers from the industry including leading performers from Priscilla Queen of the Dessert, and Beautiful: The Musical.
We wish these performers all the best in their future endeavours, and look forward to seeing them next Monday!
