7 MORE SLEEPS A musical “Tour” of Christmas
Seven sleeps before Christmas day, professional performers and the Jack Earle Trio will donate their time to celebrate the festive season in a night that will begin the countdown to Christmas day with all raised funds going towards the Tour De Cure and cancer research.
In 2007, three mates – Geoff Coombes, Samantha Hollier-James and Gary Bertwistle found that cancer was the disease that affected the most Australians. With 1 in 2 men and women affected by cancer by the age of 85, their efforts were directed towards finding a cure. The Tour de Cure Signature Tour was launched, with 29 brave souls cycling over 1000 kilometres in 9 days. 12 years later, the Tour continues to grow and now raises more than $2.5 million each year. On each overnight stop on the Signature Tour, $10,000 is donated to local cancer projects.
At 7pm on Monday 18th December, you can support the Tour De Cure and hear carols sung by Hannah Fredericksen (Dream Lover , City of Angels), Stefanie Jones (Brigadoon, The Sound of Music), Andrew Kroenert (Fiddler on the Roof, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), Adam Lyon (King Kong, Ned the Musical), Rob Mills (Wicked, Australian Idol), Joshua Robson (Les Miserables, My Fair Lady) and Alana Tranter (Georgy Girl, They’re Playing Our Song) plus an inspiring message about the Tour de Cure that will open your heart.
