BaliCAN YOU PUT A PRICE ON PARADISE?

From the multi-award-winning team who brought you FAG/STAG comes a new comedy, BALI. This is the fourth new work in The Last Great Hunt’s 2017 Perth Season and runs for nine shows only at the Subiaco Arts Centre 18 – 28 October.

Corgan wants Jimmy to come to Bali.

Jimmy can’t afford it.

Corgan says he’ll pay.

Jimmy is soon to find out that’s only half true.

BFFs Jimmy and Corgan are heading on a whirlwind trip of cheap cocktails, awkward massages, and disgusting tourists to Australia’s favourite holiday destination: BALI. Armed with privilege, arrogance, and an unbelievable exchange rate, these two endearing messes face a wake-up call from the real world.

Written and performed by two of Australia’s sharpest writers Jeffrey Jay Fowler and Chris Isaacs, BALI explores privilege, class and the tourist in us all. It is a funny and confronting stand-alone companion piece to the hit show FAG/STAG.

“When we wrote FAG/STAG we took pieces of our own experiences and the experiences of the people around us to make a commentary on what life is like when you are at the end of your twenties. We wanted to make a true to life picture of friendship, masculinity and sexuality,” says Isaacs.

“For BALI we wanted to re-visit the characters of Jimmy and Corgan. Now that we’re both in our early 30s we thought it was time to use the relationship of our characters to explore another important topic: our own privilege,” says Fowler.

BALI is recommended for ages 18+ due to coarse language and adult themes.
