PLOS invite you to audition for our July 2012 production of Hairspray.

HAIRSPRAY CAST INFORMATION

Seeking performers of all ethnicities, shapes, sizes, colours, races, creeds and religions to participate in this production of HAIRSPRAY.

Cast Ages

• ALL adult cast are to be 16 years of age by 1 July 2012.

Audition Requirements/preparation

• Auditions are by appointment only.• Each auditionee will have up to 10 minutes.

• All auditionees need to prepare two contrasting Music Theatre songs which demonstrate your vocal and acting range (song not from the show)

• Remember to choose an appropriate starting point in your song. You may not get to sing the full song.

• Piano accompaniment must be readable sheet music in the key you wish to perform. Please bring two copies of music.

• NO requests to transpose. Own piano accompanist permitted.

• Most sheet music is available either at music shops through websites such as musicnotes.com at a small cost. 

• Taped/CD accompaniment music can be used.

• Unaccompanied auditions will not be permitted.

• Auditionees are asked to arrive early to talk through your song with the audition pianist and complete all required paperwork prior to audition.

• Part of the audition may involve singing of scales and other vocal exercises.

• Part of the audition may also require the reading of lines and dialogue.

All Auditions

Auditionees are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes early for their audition to fill in registration details.

All auditionees must bring a photo of themselves (non returnable). Please ensure it depicts natural and current look.

Callbacks as required will be scheduled on Thursday 16 February 2012.
